The hotel felt neglected and badly in need of renovation, and some staff were unfriendly and unhelpful when we raised the problems. The bathroom was particularly unpleasant: the toilet was dirty and its flush leaked, and the room gave a generally dirty, poorly maintained impression as soon as we arrived. For what we paid, we expected better cleanliness and service. We can't recommend it.

We got very good value for the money. It's not a luxury hotel, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help: they offered early check-in and, when they heard I was leaving before breakfast on my last day, gave me a big breakfast platter. The location is central, an easy walk from Termini Station and about five minutes from the Metro. There are moderately priced restaurants nearby, and many historic sites are around a 30-minute walk away.

You can walk everywhere from this central spot in Rome, but the bathroom had a terrible, unbearable smell. The staff were helpful, though I'd avoid staying here. It felt so grubby that a hostel would have been better, and it wasn't cheap either.

The location turned out to be the best part: I walked to several monuments, including the Trevi Fountain in 9 minutes, the Colosseum in 21, and the Pantheon in about 26. Service was kind and welcoming, and breakfast had a basic but decent choice of pastries, cereal, and drinks. I'd expected a one star place after seeing the photos and reviews on Google Maps, but it was much better than I thought. The rooms were actually nice, if old fashioned. The bathroom, though, was very, very small.

Friendly staff and a good hotel. Breakfast was included, but I couldn't eat the bread because it tasted old. Maybe it was leftover from the cafe where breakfast is served.
