Hearth Hotel

The staff were especially friendly and helpful, and being near the Ottaviano station and the Vatican was a real plus. We had a great stay at the Hearth Hotel and would happily return if we get the chance. As you'd expect in an older building, the room was on the small side, but it was well equipped. We really appreciated having a fridge and electrical outlets on both sides of the bed.

The reception team were excellent, professional, and kind. They even let me check in early once my room was ready, which helped me rest after traveling. The location is very convenient for central Rome and the Vatican. I liked the firm mattress and soft pillows, and the sheets and towels were clean. I found a live bug crawling next to my pillow while I was asleep, though, and after that I couldn't properly rest for the rest of the night. The room also needs a deep clean and some renovation. The rustic Roman style has charm and should stay, but the furniture needs updating and the marked, stained walls need repainting. There was a noticeable amount of hair and debris under the mattress. The WiFi was extremely weak in the room, usually just one or two bars, and kept disconnecting. There also weren't any basic things like a kettle, mug, or way to heat water for tea or coffee. Staff and location were strong points, but cleanliness, maintenance, amenities, and WiFi need improvement.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the facilities and staff were excellent. They even helped me with my Italian. I absolutely love this place and would definitely come back when I'm in Rome again. 🙌

We left our luggage here on our last day in the city before visiting the Vatican, and the service worked perfectly. It's a 5-10 minute walk away, well organized, safe, and fairly priced. Marco was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to call us a taxi. We'll stay here next time too. Thanks, Heart Hotel team!
