We came to Rome for a week with our two young children, and the hotel felt like a peaceful place to recharge after busy days sightseeing. It's surrounded by nature, with a lovely pool and a calm atmosphere. Everything was spotlessly clean and felt very family-friendly. Roberta and the whole staff welcomed us warmly from the start, and their kindness and attentiveness made us feel right at home throughout the stay. We felt genuinely well cared for and would return without hesitation. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.

Hero's Garden Relais is beautiful, and the staff were so kind and friendly. The food and drinks they made were lovely too. We felt really well looked after. Thank you to the whole team, you're the best ❤️

I slept really well, thanks to the good mattress and air conditioning in the room. Hellen and Roberta were wonderful hosts, always friendly and ready to help. The setting is beautiful, among pine trees and fields, and there's a bar serving drinks and light meals. I had Pizza delivered a few times, and it was delicious and great value. The nearest station is an easy eight-minute drive away, with convenient access to central Rome. My trip there and back took under an hour. It worked out perfectly to explore the city in the morning and relax by the pool in the afternoon.

The natural setting is beautiful, the breakfast was very good, and Roberta in particular was genuinely lovely and attentive. Still, the major problems during my stay at Hero's Garden Relais outweighed those good points. I was in Rome for a wedding and chose the property after seeing its pool photos and website claims about comfort and its surroundings. Getting around was much harder and more expensive than the website's description of being a few kilometers from central Rome suggested. I had no car and couldn't use public transport, so taxis cost me over 150 euros: 40 euros each way to Rome, 38 euros each way to a wedding venue just 10km away, and another 40 euros to Roma Termini after the promised transfer van wasn't available. I would rather have spent that money on better accommodation. Taxis were unreliable and didn't always arrive when expected. My room, Glori, was pretty and spacious, but some maintenance issues didn't fit the website's description of luxury and fine finishes or the photos. The shower was tiny, nothing like the advertised large shower, and seemed more suited to a mobile home than an upscale resort. I'm glad I'm not a big person. There was extensive black mildew throughout the shower area. With no shelves, I had to leave toiletries on the floor and bend down in the cramped space to use them. The glass shower doors were missing a handle, so I had to stand on tiptoes and grab the top of the door to get out. The bed had only two tiny, thin, uncomfortable pillows and sheets, with no comforter or blanket. There was no staff available at night to deal with these problems. The pool itself was lovely, clean, and well kept. But when I arrived in the afternoon, there were no staff or other guests around, and I didn't feel safe swimming alone. I wasn't expecting a lifeguard, but I did expect people to be around and towels to be available for an afternoon swim. The pool towels only appeared more than an hour later, when staff finally showed up. Coming back late from the wedding was concerning too. I'd been told not to let taxis through the locked gate after midnight, so I had to walk alone across the dark, empty property with no visible staff or security. The noise also ruined the peaceful atmosphere the website promotes. Loud disco music from a nearby event venue went on from 1:30 PM until after 2 AM, and on Sunday morning nearby dogs barked and bayed nonstop. I sent detailed feedback privately in the hope these problems could be fixed. The response was disappointing: it addressed transportation and noise, but ignored all the room maintenance issues. They basically replied that the pool didn't need supervision because of its depth, which missed my point entirely, and made vague promises about improvements in the future. Staff weren't around much of the time, and despite the property having lovely people like Roberta, the response left me feeling that guest concerns weren't being taken seriously. For what I paid, plus more than 150 euros in unexpected taxi costs, I didn't get the value or experience that had been promised. The room maintenance was unacceptable at this price, and management's dismissive response to detailed feedback was disappointing. I wanted to give them a chance to sort out fixable problems privately, but they didn't take my concerns seriously. I definitely wouldn't recommend booking here without a private or rental car.

The pool was such a welcome break after a hot day in Rome, and it's easy to get into the city. We had a wonderful week here at the beginning of September. Roberta and Helena have made a magical place, from the atmosphere and apartment to the warm welcome and the care we received throughout. Roberta also shared great nearby restaurant recommendations. The supermarket is a five-minute drive away and has everything you need. If you want somewhere a little different, off the beaten track, run by people who really care, you won't be disappointed. We couldn't recommend it more.
