What stayed with us most was the lack of clear communication and the loss of our peace of mind. Staff came into the room with their own key without warning or agreement, despite the emphasis that this wasn’t a hotel. There was no sign or information explaining that we could decline housekeeping. Important receipts were taken with a bag of trash. Some things were returned later, but the whole incident left us uneasy. The location is a real advantage. Most attractions are walkable, and the area was fairly quiet in the evenings. Our balcony wasn’t much use, though, because strong smells from nearby restaurants kept coming in. In the mornings we could hear conversations, coughing, and other sounds from the common areas, and doorbell ringing during the day often disturbed our rest. At check-in, the focus was on payment and city tax. We weren’t told about the room cleaning policy, which caused a misunderstanding, or about the buttons for exiting the building. We only found out about those on checkout day. For our five-day stay, the room felt set up more for shorter visits and lacked some practical features. The kettle and refrigerator weren’t very convenient, some outlets didn’t work well with different chargers and devices, and the air conditioning seemed like it might need more thorough maintenance. We’ve traveled to many places in Italy and usually found the hospitality to be very good. This time, we felt short on clear information and overall peace of mind. I’d suggest this property mainly for a short stay if location is the top priority.
