Hotel Agorà

All three double rooms our group booked were in terrible shape. The bathrooms had mold and old, ingrained dirt, and the lobby was dirty and full of garbage. There was no sign of proper cleaning or maintenance, just a complete lack of hygiene and care. Avoid this place.

The room looked nothing like the photos, and the cleaning was awful: towels were left on the floor and the hairdryer didn't work. Staff were very rude, especially the cleaner, one of the most unpleasant people I've ever met. Their behavior ruined my days in Rome, and I couldn't enjoy the city the way I'd wanted. Everything about the stay was terrible and extremely disappointing. I'd rather stay anywhere else.

At €60 a night for six nights, it was cheap and cheerful, really good for the price. The room was quite nice and cleaned well each day, though the shower was a bit dirty around the bottom. The lift was tiny and rickety. We could walk or take the bus to the major sights, for example, the Colosseum was a 25-minute walk away.

The location was undeniably excellent, and we put up with the bathroom problems because our stay was short and it was convenient. The bathroom was dated, had no holder for shampoo or soap, and the water pressure was so weak that showering properly was difficult. What really spoiled things was the front desk representative. My friend politely asked for a clean towel and was refused, then he raised his voice at her. I understand the policy may be to change towels every three days, but that doesn't justify treating a guest with hostility. The attitude was completely at odds with hospitality and made us feel like a burden instead of welcome guests. I hope management takes this seriously and makes sure future guests are treated with respect and professionalism. A great location may bring people in, but service is what makes them return.
