Hotel Casa Tra Noi

Getting to the hotel was difficult. From the train, it’s a steep 10-minute uphill walk with long staircases, very hard with luggage, and there may be more stairs inside the building too. The room was old, damp, and poorly maintained, with strange insects. There were no basic items: no kettle, tea or coffee, cups, refrigerator, water bottle, tissues, or room trash bin, just one in the bathroom. When I asked, I was told they simply don’t provide those things. The outdated, dirty bathroom had no heating. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, noisy whenever I moved, and its metal springs felt cold at night. I could hear everything from neighboring rooms because there was no soundproofing. Construction above my room was very disturbing, and rooms under renovation shouldn’t be assigned to guests. The air conditioner didn’t work properly, and reception couldn’t fix it, so I had to use a portable heater. Breakfast was poor quality, and the internet signal in the breakfast area wasn’t proper either. Reception was unprofessional. Staff kept me waiting while texting and laughing. Most couldn’t communicate in basic English, and sometimes they simply hung up when I called reception. Alicia was particularly unpleasant in her attitude. The whole stay was stressful and uncomfortable from start to finish. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly one of my worst stays. I also think any platform selling this hotel shares responsibility. Cleanliness, working facilities, and basic hospitality are fundamental standards, not luxury requests. Platforms should check that properties meet them or clearly disclose their actual condition.

The staff were nice, breakfast was nice, and drinks were reasonably priced. The rooms were very basic, with no iron or tea and coffee, and the air conditioning didn’t work. There was one shared iron on the ground floor for three buildings. The soaps and hair shampoo were nice.

Breakfast was average but enough, and the location and parking were good. At first, we were put in a regular room that hadn’t been renovated. I went back to reception and they gave us our Superior Twin instead. It was modern and nice, though quite small and without a balcony. The room was quiet at night, but the door didn’t keep sound out well, so our neighbours woke us. It also seemed that the bathrooms weren’t well soundproofed from each other.

The family room was comfortable, the rooms were clean, and service was good. We had a pleasant stay overall, and the staff were friendly. Only the managers spoke English fluently, but we managed to communicate with a bit of creativity and gestures 😉 Noise from the neighboring room was a downside. It could be quite noticeable, especially early in the morning when someone was showering.
