Hotel Elysè

The breakfast room looked more like storage than somewhere in use, and when we checked out around 9 am, nothing was being served. We probably wouldn’t have eaten there anyway, since we had doubts about cleanliness throughout the hotel. On arrival, the neighborhood surprised us. It felt extremely sketchy, though a very friendly young woman checked us in and gave us room 29. The place seemed dated and sad. In the hall there were long-dead flowers in old wine bottles, and our room was worn, with stained carpet and a missing shower door replaced by a ragged curtain. There was no honor bar. The window looked down on a street corner and a dumpster, including the smell. A nearby bell rang loudly and repeatedly. We weren’t sure if it belonged to an old church, and noticed several homeless people sleeping outside it. At 8 am we counted 62 clangs. I’d only stay here if there were absolutely nowhere else.

It was my favorite person’s home when she first came to Italy 🤭 I think I’m in love with her. This will stay a memory 🖤

The people were lovely, and the staff were so friendly. I really enjoyed my stay.

A poor, worn-out hotel for the price. The service was extremely bad, and it felt like a ghetto. Don’t go out at night.
