The location is really good, but a lot needs work. The room was so cramped that sitting on the bed was about all you could do, and moving around was difficult. It was also uncomfortably cold, even with the air conditioner on and set to 30. You're not allowed to eat in the room, either, and there's no kettle or microwave.

A nice touch was the wine and nibbles they put out from 6 to 8 in the evening. Breakfast was good, though the dining area is small. The rooms have what you need, a good bed, hot water, and a mini fridge with drinks. Maybe it's just a British thing, but I would've liked a kettle. It's a good base if you're out and about all day, and I'd definitely come back.

For a low price, you get quite a lot: spacious, very clean rooms, a good breakfast, kind and helpful staff, and amazing WiFi. The reception is in a separate building 50 meters down the road, which is fine unless walking there bothers you. There's not much space to hang clothes or jackets, so you may need to leave things in your suitcase. The main road is close, which can mean some noise at night. Still, a nice experience and a good choice for a couple of nights.

It's clean and cozy, but the double room is very small, even for one person, and there's no view. Anyone who knows Rome knows central buildings have their own room sizes. The three stars are for how close it is to the center, because in Rome I'd rather enjoy the city than spend time in the room.

The smell in the room was the main reason I wouldn't return. The bed cover smelled of cigarettes, and even though the sheet looked clean, it made my skin itch. I kept the windows open each night because the odor bothered me. The closet smelled bad too, maybe from cigarettes or just age. I started wondering about bugs at one point, despite having requested a non-smoking room and being told the rooms were non-smoking. The bathroom was small but clean, though the bathtub had a little rust patch. The RO Hotels-branded shower and shampoo smelled cheap to me, and I prefer the Aqua brand. Breakfast was fine, though a banana might be a good addition. There were good points as well. The reception was at hotel caravaggio around the corner, where Killy and Mido were polite and very helpful. Killy gave my husband and me five '10cents' for the lift when we arrived, so we didn't have to hunt for coins. On departure the reception staff arranged our transfer to fco airport for 50euros. Joanna did the housekeeping and arranged breakfast, and she was a star. She checked every morning that I was happy with the room and cleaning and did a great job. I didn't have the heart to mention the bed cover smell to her. The hotel is well located, with a supermarket across on National road and around the corner, a few restaurants downstairs, and colosseo about a 20-minute walk away. It's also very close to republica metro station. The antique lift that takes 10c is a lot of fun.
