Hotel Positano

I chose the wrong dates by mistake on Booking, March 4 instead of June 4, and the reservation couldn’t be refunded. I contacted the property to ask about cancelling or moving it to June. They refused, even though I was willing to pay extra for the new dates. I know the mistake was mine, but they could easily have changed the dates. This was the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. I can deal with making a mistake, but losing trust is something a business can’t afford in the long run. I can’t recommend a hotel that would rather keep two hundred euros than have a happy long-term customer. Stay away if you can.

We ended up booking another hotel because this room was so bad, but they wouldn’t cancel it or refund us. After traveling all day, we walked into a disgusting mess. There was urine and pubic hair all over the bathroom by the toilet, what looked like blood or bodily fluids on the walls, and mold in the room corners. The closet was covered in graffiti and obscene drawings. The shower tray and TV were half ripped out of the wall and falling down, among other problems. The room in the photos wasn’t what we got. Ours was much smaller and didn’t have the listed amenities. When we raised this, the two men at the desk were extremely rude and kept interrupting and talking over my girlfriend. Stay as far away as you can.

We paid 67 euros for one night for a couple, a great price in the middle of the city. Termini station is very close, with buses and the metro nearby, and there’s a nice, tasty, cheap restaurant opposite. Our quiet room was number 12. It came with a kettle for morning coffee, three free bottles of water that were great after a long day in the city, and a fridge. There’s also a microwave at reception, plus free slippers. I’d never had this kind of service in a 2-star hotel. Great any time, highly recommended.

I stayed from October 24 to 27, 2025, and paid 400 euros for four nights, but left after one night. The room they gave us was tiny, dirty, and broken, with a damaged toilet. It was nothing like the luxury room I’d paid for. My 11-year-old son and I couldn’t breathe or sleep properly, and we both became sick. The owner was very rude to me and my son. The owner said he would return my money, but nearly three months later I still hadn’t received it. Can anyone tell me where I can complain about the owner and hotel, or how I can get my money back? This was the worst experience of my life. I was there on October 24, 2025.
