Hotel Valentino Palace

The hotel was very dirty, and the location was extremely poor. More troubling, a valuable necklace went missing from my room while I was out. I left in the morning and found it gone when I returned that day. There was no sign of forced entry, and the cleaning staff were the only ones with access in the meantime. I contacted the hotel, but they denied responsibility and said valuables should have been left at reception. That doesn't explain how the necklace disappeared from among my personal belongings.

The place felt very safe, and the rooms were modern and cleaned every day. The location was great too. The man who welcomed us at reception was phenomenal, so helpful and warm. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Valentino's resturant is next door, with great food and company. The hotel is also in a perfect spot, a short walk from the station and an easy 30 minutes on foot to the main attractions if you enjoy walking. We had a great stay, and the staff were amazing.

At check-in we were given a tiny room that didn't look like the photos for the Superior Double or Twin Room I booked. I asked the front desk right away why it was so different, and they said the room was correct but the website photos were wrong. After the trip, I checked my booking and saw that the room was listed as a Single Room (Double Bed), which allows only one person. There were two of us. Something's clearly wrong here. Why were we cheated like this? My whole Rome experience was absolutely terrible. I think arguing with the hotel would have been pointless, so I'm leaving this to warn others. You can see the photos.
