Il Gattopardo Relais

The hotel is cute, and getting around is easy: the subway is a minute away and the Vatican is just around the corner. The staff were difficult to reach, though, and service and communication could be better. One day we had no towels and had to dry ourselves after showering. For a short Rome trip, you could stay here, but be sure to ask your questions and communicate everything with the staff at check-in.

The worst experience I’ve had in years. Communication was poor, and they didn’t seem to understand my situation. I called the hotel for three days to tell them about a possible strike, but Booking.com said I needed the hotel’s final approval for anything, while the hotel told me to contact Booking.com. After three days, I’d lost trust in both. I have evidence, including screenshots and recorded calls, and more. There are much better hotels in Rome. Don’t stay here.

We got help with food reservations and directions to the train and supermarket, and the location made things easy: we could walk to the Vatican and take a quick bus to the Colosseum or Pantheon. It was our family’s first trip to Italy, and our stay at Il Gattopardo was great from start to finish. Dahlia welcomed us warmly, the cleaning lady was friendly, and the rooms were beautiful. I’d stay here again!

We booked just 18hrs before arriving and got there at 2AM. They sent the late check-in instructions quickly, didn’t make a fuss about the time, and trusted us without asking for a deposit. Some staff speak really good English, though you may need to chat with others on WhatsApp so they can translate. The rooms are perfectly fine and cleaned every dayday, with fresh towels. The shower could be more waterproof ;) Keep up the good work!
