Julias Domus T - Apartment

We liked how lively the neighborhood was, especially on Friday nights, with plenty of places to eat, drink and spend time with friends, some open all day. A mechanic is right downstairs and was open Saturday morning, and there's a little bar there too, though we didn't get to try it. Free parking under the house was convenient, and both times we needed a space, we found one. The terrace was roomy and pleasant for lunch, but the kitchen is in the first bedroom, so the layout doesn't really work for cooking or eating there. The house has four beds and two bathrooms, which is what you'd expect for the price. You can't flush toilet paper, and only one bathroom has a bidet. Hot water takes a while to come through in the shower. Getting inside was complicated: we had to enter two codes, which were sent quickly, so make sure to copy them correctly, then turn the bolt twice with a lot of force. At night, when the entry system caused trouble, we couldn't get hold of the owners. After about half an hour of trying, we got in and could finally rest. The bed in the first bedroom was comfortable, but my travel companions found the other beds uncomfortable. The place has its good points, though access and communication with the owners could be better.

We stayed over the April 25 holiday weekend. The location was convenient because the metro was close, but the rest was a thumbs down. The apartment was in very poor condition, both in terms of cleanliness and furnishings, and the bathrooms need a complete renovation. On the last evening, we couldn't get back in because of a problem with the coded locks. The owners had entered the wrong checkout date and couldn't be reached. Fortunately, after quite a while we managed to sort it out, but it wasn't a good experience.

There were seven of us, our parents and five children, and we had a very pleasant stay. Alberto, who owns the room, was kind and courteous, and we'd happily return when we're in Rome. There's a supermarket open every day of the week nearby, along with the metro, and free public parking downstairs. I highly recommend it.

The website photos didn't match the place. It was very dirty, there was no hot water, and everything about it was negative. The beds were short and hard.
