Hotel La Lumiere di Piazza di Spagna

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the roof terrace and the breakfast. We had three very clean rooms for a family wedding, all with wonderful full-body showers. The rooftop views were smashing, and the location puts you close to the spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Patheon, and great shopping. Nights were busy, but the noise didn’t disturb our sleep. Thanks to la lumiere for a great stay. Highly recommended, and we’d happily return. X

The front desk ladies were wonderful and helped us work things out during the May 23, 2025 train strike. Our room for three was nice, with plenty of bathroom space, and breakfast was good. There’s also a terrace with a great outlook. Breakfast starts at 8am, so before that we took a quick walk to Fotana di Trevi while it was still not too crowded. The hotel is in a great spot, just two minutes from Spanish Steps.

We were so happy with our honeymoon stay and would come back. The staff were friendly and we ended up chatting with them several times. They also helped with the recommendations we asked for. The breakfast room and rooftop terrace were lovely extras, and we had a private terrace with our room, which was pretty cool. The location was great, just steps from the Spanish steps.

I had a health problem one night and got no answer when I called the special assistance number. Luckily, I improved after a while. There was no air conditioning, and the suggestion was to open the windows if we felt warm. Calls from the rooms to outside numbers have been blocked since the pandemic, so I wondered how guests are supposed to call Reception for help between 11pm and 7am, when there’s no staff available. They ask you to pay for the whole stay upfront, then give you a key for the main door if you return after 11pm, as if you were at home. The breakfasts were very poor and the bed blankets frayed. I’ll never return. Avoid this hotel for your stay in Rome.
