Be careful booking here. There are lots of bad reviews about hotels with “lux” and “ripetta” in their names, and a name change for the location shouldn’t fool you. Search Google for “Luxury Ripetta 2” and you’ll find plenty of bad reviews. Here’s mine: SCAM!!! I paid through booking.com, and they took the money. Before I could check in, they canceled, claiming there was a “burst pipe.” They offered no refund, so I had to fight them through booking.com, and I’m still waiting for my money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS!

We arrived to find our reservation had been cancelled because of an error on their end, and the owner never told us directly. We only learned about it through an email from the booking agency, after struggling outside to find the building because no check-in details had been left. The several phone numbers we tried weren't always answered. We nearly had nowhere to sleep that night. The worst hotel experience of my life. Do not stay here.

The location is very good and central, and the family room is large. But the furniture and decor are really poor, and the photos don't match what you get. The walls are full of spiders despite daily cleaning, and the rooms aren't soundproof. The only beds are poor-quality sofa beds. This place needs an urgent renovation.

Giovanni, the owner, was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The room was clean, calm, and comfortable, and the location worked well for us: close to the historic center and about a 20-minute walk from the Vatican. We never needed the bus or metro. I warmly recommend it.
