The location worked really well for us, with an easy 10-minute walk to the Vatican and access to Trastevere, while the area itself was quiet and street noise minimal. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were consistently courteous and helpful. The shower had strong hot water, though it was tiny, like an RV shower. Storage was limited, with no shelves or drawers, and there were no tissues. Toiletries were basic, just combined shampoo and body wash plus hand soap. The AC temperature range was fixed and couldn’t be overridden. It might get a bit noisier in peak season when guests come and go. One practical tip: taxis may leave you on the main street by the hotel sign, where you have to go through a dark, dirty alley and stairs. There’s a vehicle-accessible alley to the left that goes directly to the entrance, so ask the driver to use it or walk up that way, keeping an eye out for cars. For a 3-star hotel, it feels closer to 4 thanks to the location, cleanliness, and comfort.

We had a great stay, and the staff were great. The hotel is well placed for visiting the Vatican. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of food to choose from, including lovely fresh fruit. You can reach the entrance by a small alley with stairs, or walk around from the next street to avoid the steps. Next time, I’d book a room with a verandah. Room 203, Mr And Mrs T, Scotland.

The hotel is in a quiet area, close to the Vatican, Castelo De Angelo and the center. The rooms were very clean, with bed linen and towels changed every day. Breakfast and coffee were excellent, and lactose-free milk was available. They can arrange museum tickets if you ask, and give you a Rome map to help with getting around. A taxi application and a card for online payments are useful, since mobile payment works for everything. A taxi from the center to the hotel is about 10€, public transport costs 1.5€, and bills for everything in the city are available. I recommend it!

Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were very friendly. They even let me into my room early. Hotel La Rovere is near the banks of the Tiber, about 200 metres from the Vatican. A wonderful hotel.

The view was phenomenal, and everyone on staff was very friendly and polite. My room was fantastic. Breakfast was a tad pricey, but the food was all good. No complaints, a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location.
