Live like a local in Rome’s exclusive Colle Oppio

Mr. Cristiano is really welcoming and a genuinely nice person. The area isn’t very touristy, but it’s close to the coliseum. A comfy, nice place to stay while visiting Rome. Recommended.

Cafes, restaurants, coffee and a little alimentary are all within 50ms. The owner was friendly, extremely helpful and had great recommendations for whatever we needed. The rooms are neat and well appointed, and the accommodation is in the most perfect spot in Rome. Highly recommended.

We couldn’t sleep until morning because of the unbearable heat during one of Rome’s hottest days. The air conditioning was broken, and water was leaking everywhere. We asked for a repair and were told someone would come, but nobody showed up. The towels and sheets were extremely worn, and one had a hole in it. This isn’t a proper hotel. It’s more like a three-bedroom house where each room is rented separately, like an Airbnb. We had to change hotels and asked for a refund, but the property keeps refusing and sending us to Hotels.com. I don’t understand why it’s listed on Hotels.com. It belongs on Airbnb, and even there deserves the lowest possible rating. I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Cristiano, the host, is a wonderful, friendly man who’ll help with any questions. When you leave, you can leave your luggage safely at Clemy in Rome until you pick it up later that day, and they give you a key to get back in. The room was nice and clean, with free nespresso coffee and tea. The Colosseum, foro romano and Palentine hill are within walking distance. Trattoria Morgana and Ristorante pizzeria Da Michele are just a few steps away and are nice places to eat. We had a lovely experience and you’ll have a wonderful stay here.
