Magic Door Rome

The only good thing was the location, which was very convenient. The photos didn’t match what we got at all, and the standard was low. I’ve never felt so cheated on a trip. This is more of a hostel than a hotel, with such thin walls that you hear everything. We’d booked three nights, but moved to another hotel after the first one.

My daughter and I arrived exhausted late at night after our flight was delayed more than 6 hours. We stayed because the room looked similar to the advertised photos. I’d booked the property through Magic Door for June 17-18, but when we arrived, someone other than Federico, Liliana, or Magic Door told me the reservation was with Leandro and the property was called Girasole. The photos matched the Magic Door listing, but apparently they don’t operate the accommodation. That was confusing and should have been explained in advance. Future guests should also know this is an apartment floor with around 5 other rooms, not a hotel. They use physical keys instead of keyless entry, and the elevator is extremely small, with only room for about 2 people or one person with a suitcase. The air conditioning barely worked and was almost nonexistent during our stay. The refrigerator’s cooling system wasn’t working properly either. There’s no receptionist or first floor with amenities. I hope this helps future guests avoid confusion and leads to clearer communication about who manages the property and what’s actually being offered.
