Magister

Mustafa was such a great host. Since it's quite loud at night, he gave us earplugs. He even went down to the store to get prosciutto, because otherwise breakfast is all sweets. Beautiful hotel and rooms, with a jacuzzi bathtub.

The room was very clean, the location was great, and breakfast was filling. Mustafa, the manager, really made our stay better. He's friendly, hospitable, fun, and happy to answer questions or help with anything. If we travel to Rome again, we'll definitely stay at Magister suites.

We stayed just after the refurbishment, in a fantastic old building. Reception isn't staffed around the clock, but that worked fine for us. Our key opened both the building and hotel doors, so we could come and go freely. There was a small kitchen for making tea and coffee, plus a fridge for bottled water. A very nice Japanese restaurant was just down the street. It's about a 10-minute walk to the underground, making it a good base for wandering around Rome. The hotel is basic but perfectly acceptable for a couple of days. We had the typically Italian breakfast at the time we requested, and it was very nice. We'd use the hotel again.

We enjoyed staying here, and especially all our conversations with Danilo. The historic area is about a 20-minute walk away. Street noise could be an issue for sleeping at night, but if it isn't for you, this is a decent place. I'd definitely recommend it.
