Magnifico Rome

The location was the standout: step outside and the Forum is right there. The desk clerk was nice when he was around, and the rooms were fine. The shower felt a bit odd and could use an update. One heads-up: children over 10 have an extra tax that wasn't included in our booking. We would've liked to know that beforehand.

We stayed four nights and only saw a staff member once, when we checked in. The communal water dispenser stayed empty, there was just one working socket in the room, and the TV didn't work. The shower was fixed pointing straight at the screen door, so we ended up with puddles on the floor every time. Our room was right beside reception, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything. On the last night, we saw bed bugs crawling out of the headboard. We'd been bitten but had assumed it was mosquitoes because we hadn't seen any bugs before. We didn't stay that night. Staff were mostly absent, and we had no contact details to report it to them. We booked through a third-party travel councillor, and since she sent in the complaint, they've done everything they can to avoid communicating with her. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

We felt very safe in the building as study abroad students, and the room was clean and cute. My friend and I arrived in Rome late at night with nowhere to stay after our plans changed at the last minute, and the host was wonderful and accommodating. We had a great three-night stay. It's right in central Rome, too. Really recommend it!

The staff member looking after the place was so kind, and even helped me track down my luggage after the airport lost it. Our room was tidied every day, which made the stay feel really welcoming. It was a lovely three-night family trip for me, my wife, and our adventurous five-year-old. The hotel is an easy, pleasant 15-minute walk from Rome's main attractions, and the whole getaway was unforgettable.
