Our child had a respiratory emergency while we were in Florence, so we had to go to the hospital and couldn’t continue on to Rome. I ended up paying taxes in both Florence and Rome. I asked the Rome hotel to refund its taxes, but they refused. They ask you to pay the taxes in advance, so don’t do that.

We’re on our second night, and there’s been no running water for the shower today. Staff told us to wait until tomorrow morning and didn’t offer another solution, so we couldn’t shower. Earlier, housekeeping also came into our room despite the “do not disturb” sign we’d put on the door. On top of that, we asked a few days ago for an airport ride on checkout day, but when we checked, it hadn’t been booked. I’d look elsewhere if you want an easy stay.

Breakfast comes to your room since there isn’t a breakfast room. You choose from their catalogue the day before and say what time you’d like it. The hotel is in a perfect spot in central Rome, right by the metro, and the staff were fantastic and really helpful. I visited with my family and would definitely recommend Orchidea Room. I’ll come back for sure.

The staff were really nice, and our room was clean. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, and the location puts you close to most things. We had a good stay and I’d come back.
