Maison Re Di Roma

It was my grandfather who stayed here, not me. He had a large, welcoming room with good equipment. The only issue was the view onto the inner courtyard, where there’s been very noisy construction for years. Luckily he was there on a weekend, so there was no work going on. I’d suggest they tell guests about this in future.

We stayed six nights. Towels were replaced every other day, and the bathroom was clean, though the room cleaning was only so-so. Our room, number 7, had a big balcony, and the area was very quiet. The city center is five metro stops away, about a 10-minute ride. For the price, the apartment was decent. We had internet problems twice when the router stopped working for several hours, and the staff weren’t very responsive to our complaints. They’re based at another hotel by Manzoni metro station, where you also have to collect the room key. That’s inconvenient, although both hotels are right by the metro.

On September 21, 2019, the room still hadn’t been cleaned by 4 p.m. The previous guests’ linens and garbage were still there, even though we’d been assured we could occupy it by 2 p.m. Dust covered the shutters. We called to report it, but they wouldn’t put us in touch with the person responsible. Paying €91 for a few hours in that filth was absurd.

It felt like a zero-star place, impossible to classify as a hotel. The rooms smelled awful as soon as we arrived, and the odor got into our clothes. The room was filthy and all the furniture was ruined. You could even smell everything from one room in the next. I wouldn’t recommend it. Terrible.
