The hotel is in a fantastic spot, and the rooms are pretty, though simple. There was no iron, and the amenities were very basic. The front desk was the real problem. Filippe seemed annoyed that we’d come to check in and was cold from the start. We didn’t see him again until checkout, when he was even ruder. When I asked to put our cafe charges on the card on file, he flatly refused for some reason. The day before, a desk attendant with blonde curly hair, whose name I can’t remember, had arranged a car for 6:30 am the next morning so we could get to the airport. We weren’t given the driver’s number and were told to wait at a particular spot. At 6:30 there was no car. My sister called Filippe to ask if he could check, and he said there was no car and that we must have been mistaken, then tried to hang up. He wouldn’t even try to find out whether a car had been arranged or offer any sympathy. We had to scramble to find another car while worrying about our flights.
