Nomos Hotel

The hotel looks beautiful and is in an excellent location, but my stay didn’t feel like a five-star experience. Breakfast was frustrating because staff made the same kinds of mistakes more than once. In the room, the shower had nowhere to hang anything and the water pressure was very weak; the marble toilet was uncomfortable too. The little plastic bottles of soap were awkward to use, barely dispensed anything, and felt out of place with the hotel’s luxury look. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The staff made the stay for me. They were kind, professional, and always greeted me with a smile, and room service and communication were incredibly quick. The whole place felt like a little extension of Rome, from the scent and cleanliness to the bedding and dinnerware. I came for work and would definitely return on future trips. I almost want to keep this hotel to myself. Thank you.

The interior is gorgeous, and I liked that the staff respect the building’s monastery history and preserve it. Annie made us feel at home. We came for breakfast and the food was really fresh and full of flavor; the staff were sweet and welcomed us with manzotti.

The room’s design puts looks ahead of comfort. A few ceiling spotlights light the whole space, and they can’t be dimmed; lying down, the light shines straight into your eyes. The porous stone used around the hotel, including in the shower, also raised hygiene concerns given the uneven cleaning. The toilet layout is awkward, so check it beforehand. During our three-day stay, housekeeping didn’t replenish water, toiletries, or toilet paper, empty the bin, or deal with visible dust on the floor and TV. The idea is decent, but the execution doesn’t feel five-star. There’s little beyond the room and a small restaurant/bar. Booking directly cost us around 20% more, or €350, than Booking.com, and staff couldn’t help with the difference.
