We stayed three nights in a clean, good-value twin room with a kettle and mini fridge; the bathroom was shared. Alina was very friendly, gave us clear directions to the guesthouse, and suggested things to see in Rome. The quiet, safe location was really convenient, about a 15-minute walk from the Colosseum and Termini, with local supermarkets within walking distance. We could leave our luggage after checkout and come back for it after visiting the Colesseum on our last day.

The owner kindly let us leave our bags in the hall after checkout while we took one last look around the city before heading to the airport. It’s an older building with several small rooms, though ours had a balcony, private bathroom, and fridge. The area is quiet and convenient, about a 15-minute walk from the Colosseum and Rome Termini. Charging extra for AC seems way off. Still, it wasn’t bad, and the price was reasonable for a short stay in Rome.

Anna was very sweet and helpful, even though she barely speaks English. There was free tea in the room and a boiler for hot water. I liked the room and the chance to experience life in a typical Italian building and apartment from the 70s-90s. I was staying in piazza del coloseo. As a solo guest it worked for me, but I wouldn’t recommend it for couples or kids because you can hear everything happening in the other rooms. There’s one bathroom for four rooms, which makes it hard to relax in case someone needs it. The shower was uncomfortable and had no door; a shelf inside the cabin and a different overhead shower could help, especially for women.

The rooms were clean and generally okay, and Anna was helpful. I booked through Airbnb, but there are a few things that need attention. With a shared toilet, another one would be useful. The shower has no door, so the whole room gets wet while someone showers. Since there’s no management there all day, people who forgot their keys kept ringing the bell. You can hear almost everything, though we were lucky to have quiet neighbors.
