Numa Rome Barberini

The location was the one real plus, close to many attractions. But for the price, the stay wasn’t worth it. We couldn’t fit our bags properly in the rooms, and getting luggage upstairs was awkward: the elevator stops short of the floor, leaving about ten steps to carry everything. It’s also so tiny that only two people fit, and with bags you have to go in turns. It felt unreasonable that services weren’t available unless you booked at least eight nights. I didn’t try breakfast myself, but I overheard other guests at reception complaining about its quality, which didn’t give me much confidence. To be fair, I’ve tried another Numa and had a much better experience than this one.

I chose Numa again because I’d stayed at one of their Paris hotels before and was very happy with it. This Rome stay was awful. The elevator was broken, and our rooms were on the fifth and third floors. At one point staff forced the elevator door shut to get it moving, despite saying it wasn’t safe. On checkout day, even that wasn’t an option. A girl came to help after we asked, but she couldn’t handle it by herself. We had to struggle down all those stairs with our luggage, were delayed, and missed our train to Florence. I can’t recommend Numa Roma. I stayed at two hotels in Rome, and there are safer, better, more central places at similar prices.

I don’t understand the bad reviews. The prices felt normal and I had a really good stay. It was clean, with toiletries in the room and extras downstairs if you needed them. There’s a balcony for smoking, and the bathroom is spacious and clean, with shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The staff were very friendly and the location was great. They also have lockers for your things if you check out before leaving, plus free late checkout!

The room was modern and clean, and they left complimentary snacks. Really glad we picked this hotel ❤️
