NYX Hotel Rome by Leonardo Hotels

The breakfast buffet had a great range, and everything was high quality and delicious. The hotel is perfectly placed for the things you want to visit, about 15 minutes on foot from San Pietro or Fontana di trevi. If I come back to Rome for a holiday, I'll definitely book at Nyx again. I travel around Europe for work a lot, and this is one of the best hotels I've experienced. The design is beautiful, the service was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was extremely clean, with lovely design details, a huge smart TV and big windows. The room was well insulated from noise, and the bed was so comfortable. The beauty products were high quality, and the hairdryer was a good one too, not one of those small, cheap things. Keep up the good work!

The second room, Room 620, came with its own problems: there was no hair or body wash, the safe was locked, and there was only one towel for two guests. We had to spend more time tracking down housekeeping to sort it out. By then, the stay had already been frustrating. The hotel's customer service was below expectations, and cheap introductory pricing doesn't make these issues worth it. I'd strongly suggest booking somewhere else. We arrived late on 27/03/26 and were first assigned Room 316, right across from the lifts. The lobby looked fresh and modern, and the room initially seemed attractive, but the lift doors made an awful screech every time they opened. We were woken six times overnight and couldn't get a proper night's sleep. The room looked recently renovated, but the work seemed rushed and poorly finished. It wasn't clean enough, and things like the taps and mirrors were visibly crooked, leaving the room feeling unfinished. The next morning we raised the problems and asked to change rooms. Reception staff weren't apologetic. They said we had to check out and wait three hours until standard check-in time before moving, even though the hotel wasn't full. We were exhausted and had little choice but to accept. When we came back for the new keys, nobody acknowledged the inconvenience or apologized. The follow-up was disappointing. This hotel seems to be under renovation, but that doesn't excuse the cleanliness, maintenance and staff response. I wouldn't normally write a negative review, but this experience warrants it.

The neighborhood is lovely, with good places to eat nearby, and Vatican City is only about 15 minutes away. But the premium feeling disappears as soon as you leave the lobby. At €200 a night, the service was worse than I'd expect from a basic B&B. Our room stayed at a stuffy 25°C because the heating kept running even when we were out. The hotel couldn't give us a fan, so sleeping there felt like being in a sauna. The toilet seat was broken too. Maintenance said they'd fixed it, but it came loose again that evening. The sixth-floor Wi-Fi didn't work at all, and our repeated complaints were ignored. I also got six decaf coffee pods, then only two regular espresso pods when I asked. Housekeeping later failed to replace them as promised. They did a poor job in general: fresh items weren't provided during cleaning, and we had to ask several times for towels, which took 15-20 minutes to arrive. The staff listened and were polite, but nothing got sorted out. The manager was away for Easter, and there was nobody else to escalate our complaints to. NYX wasn't worth the money.

We had a fun stay and would come back. The Vatican is about five minutes away, and there's a great mix of restaurants, small family-run cafes and shops nearby. Breakfast had plenty of options and was satisfying. Our room had useful amenities, including a smart TV, hairdryer, warm shower, AC and coffee machine. The staff were kind and helpful, and they let us leave our bags for free before coming back to check in.
