Occidental Aran Park

We stayed four nights. Housekeeping cleaned the room every day and did a very good job, and all the staff were welcoming. The hotel itself was very nice. It's a bit far out, but there's a nearby bus stop for getting to the underground. Buses and tubes run often and are very cheap. Breakfast and dinner are served on the top floor. The food was excellent, especially dinner. I had the beef steak, cooked very well. Slouma Filippo deserves a special mention for being professional and attentive. I'd definitely recommend the hotel.

Hassen at the bar gave the hotel a real home-from-home feeling with his great service. Breakfast was good, and the room was nice, though a bit small. The location was somewhat out of the way if you want to visit Rome often.

The evening meal was a three-course dinner, and we also enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Our rooms were clean and a nice size. The neighborhood felt welcoming, and we had fun exploring and trying authentic Italian food. The main sights take a bit of travel to reach, but the staff were lovely and very helpful when we asked how to get into Rome. Hassen, one of the evening waiters, was an absolute joy and made the stay memorable. He was one of the highlights of our trip and deserves recognition. Our room was very clean, though a bit outdated, and the hairdryer and mini fridge were too weak to be useful. The location was nice, but reaching the city center took 45 to 60 minutes by bus and tram, for a total transport cost of 1.5 eur. We booked five nights, but the air conditioning didn't work for the first three. We reported it several times without anything being done. Once they said they'd send someone to fix it, but nobody came; at other times they offered a fan, which was useless in that weather. Staff didn't seem well coordinated either, complaints made in the evening weren't known to the morning shift. The one person who really helped was the female receptionist called Claudia I think. She was very nice, made a real effort to address the problems and eventually moved us to another room. The others weren't useful.
