The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to relax and take in the views over Rome. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable after a day of sightseeing. Hotel Palladium Palace is also well placed near Termini Station, so getting around the city or heading elsewhere is easy. Many well-known sights are walkable or a short ride away. With comfortable rooms, friendly service, and a convenient location, it’s a pleasant option for a Rome visit.

The hotel’s location near the train station was convenient, and the area was lively at night. There are many nice hotels nearby. It’s also near Maria maggots church, where the altar table has a piece of Jesus relic and pope st Francis is resting. The service made this a very disappointing stay. I had forgotten about the time difference and booked a day too early. Everyone makes mistakes, and I didn’t think I needed to be treated so harshly. After a long delayed flight, I was looking forward to our six days at the hotel. They told me they had given away my two large rooms. They found us two small rooms for the first night, then put us in our original rooms after that, which I understood. I was traveling with eight people, including two seniors and two children. We often met in the bar area by the elevator near the lobby. Five separate times, staff brought up my booking mistake, which I already knew about and had accepted. I didn’t appreciate the harsh attitude or the repeated comments. Whenever my family gathered near the lobby, we were met with angry looks. I felt anxious waiting there, unsure if they would keep harassing me. During one interaction, a woman at reception explained the situation again, as she had the day before. She rudely told me I needed to talk to the manager, pointed him out, and he repeated the same explanation in the same rude manner. After our first night I asked to cancel the remaining nights, or at least the last few, but was refused. It was quite warm in April, and the hotel AC wasn’t working. The room was so hot it was hard to sleep. I wanted an Easter vacation in a holy land with memorial experiences, but my family was extremely disappointed with the service. I would not recommend this hotel. It was my worst hotel experience ever.

The room had an unpleasant drain smell, and the shower had no curtain or rubber scraper, so we had to use a towel to dry the floor. There was a large gap under the bathroom door, meaning you could hear everything from the bedroom anyway. The handle squeaked badly, enough to wake your partner when you went in. The main doors let in corridor noise, so every word could be heard, including staff constantly shouting to each other. Light also came through at floor level. Check-in was the only place in Europe where we had trouble using our ID because the man wanted a passport. Europeans don’t need a passport in Europe!! He had a bit more work to do, and we all know Italians don’t like extra work :-) For a high-end four-star hotel, I expected better quality and for minor problems like squeaky doors to be fixed.

The staff showed how trustworthy and calm they are under pressure when my wife had a medical emergency during the night at Hotel Palladium. They called an ambulance quickly, and thankfully things worked out. Afterward, they treated us tourists with real kindness and tenderness. I hope most guests never have to find out how steady the staff are in a crisis. The hotel is also in an excellent location, and breakfast is hearty and well worth having. Our suite was a little small, but still nice, and the cleaning staff were phenomenal. Thank you, Hotel Palladium.

We stayed for a week a couple of weeks ago, and regret booking this hotel. If we’d known what we know now, my wife and I wouldn’t have stayed. They advertised AC, but it was turned off, leaving us in a hot, stuffy little room. When we raised it several times, they had an attitude and told us to open the windows. At night it was too loud to sleep with them open. After several conversations they finally gave us a fan that was barely working. The free breakfast was awful. We just got coffee and ate elsewhere. The location is in a rough area, and calling this a four-star hotel is absurd. The bartender was great, though he was looking for another job so he could leave for the same reasons we were unhappy. We wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. It’s more like a one-star motel.
