Even after reading a lot of Google reviews, we didn't run into anything like the problems people described. The room suited our trip. We only needed a place to drop our bags, shower, and sleep, and I didn't come to Rome to spend my time in the hotel looking for things to complain about. We were shown to our room promptly, and everything went as smoothly as expected. It was spacious enough for us, with Sky TV and free Wi-Fi. The view over the Largo di Torre Argentina ruins, the historic site of Julius Caesar's assassination, was remarkable. Breakfast came right to our door, and we could choose five items from a set list. Checkout was easy, and they kept our bags for free until 3 p.m. It was a very positive stay, and we'd consider coming back. Thank you.

This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. My wife and I booked a place advertised on its website and Google as a 5-star hotel. At check-in, what looked like an apartment converted into a multi-room hotel was described to us as a small bed and breakfast instead. The room was small but suitable. After a long day of travel and tours, we just wanted to shower and sleep. There was no hot water, and the shower wouldn't drain. It would have overflowed into the rest of the bathroom if we'd let it run for more than 30-45 seconds. We understood that things like this can happen, so around 6:30 p.m. we called the maintenance line. A woman kept talking over me and repeating, "email me, email me, email me." I assumed there was a language barrier, which I could understand. That's when things went bad. We were told someone would come at 7 a.m. the next day. But at 10 p.m., while my wife and I were in bed, we heard the lock click and the door swung open. A man and a woman came in yelling at us in Italian without identifying themselves. For all we knew, they were burglars. It was frightening, and entering a private room without notice or consent is against Italian law. They yelled in broken English that nothing was wrong with the shower, even though there was no hot water and they hadn't run it for more than 2-3 seconds. Once I realized they must work there, I tried to show them the problem and use Google Translate. They pushed past us, left the room, and shouted obscenities at my wife and me. We barricaded the door with furniture and luggage for the rest of the night. We left first thing in the morning, even though we'd booked two nights, and missed a very expensive tour of the Vatican and other sites. I urge people not to stay here and to read the other reviews. I wish I had before booking. We'll file a complaint with the Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato (AGCM) over what we see as false advertising as a 5-star hotel and entering a private domicile without notice or consent. EDIT: I have videos of the incident, but for some reason it won't let me upload them. EDIT 2: The owner replied below. As a courtesy, I didn't post the call logs, the video of the flooded shower and bathroom, or footage of them entering our room illegally. I'm happy to if they want to lie to potential visitors.

That view and the location were the highlights for me. There’s a small supermarket close by, and most places were about a 10-minute walk. My room was clean, spacious enough, and tidied daily, though two big suitcases wouldn’t fit. The bathroom was modern, but the shower barely had any pressure, and each day there was just a little shampoo sachet and one small soap. The bedding was only a sheet and thin blanket, and the air conditioning hardly worked. I also found the warning sticker on the remote saying not to change its setting odd. Getting in was strange: the hotel is down an alley in a building with private homes, and you need your phone to unlock the door, so Wi-Fi matters. The old, tiny elevator up to the lobby was kind of fun, but the door was very loud and needs fixing. Breakfast was basic, though it arrived on time every morning. I stayed three nights, 15-18 Aug. They call it a 5-star hotel, but having stayed at genuine 5-star places, I don’t think that’s accurate. Even three stars would be generous. It wasn’t a terrible stay, and the location is fantastic, but the advertising is misleading.

The staff were so kind and helpful. We had a lovely balcony and a room with a spectacular view, and breakfast was brought with a smile right on time each day. You’re right in the middle of everything, with the Colosseum and other sights easy to reach on foot. I’d definitely recommend the !!!

I needed a room at short notice, and for the price it turned out much better than I expected. The place isn’t the kind of 5-star hotel you might imagine, so set expectations accordingly. Still, the room was clean and decent, service was great, and the location was amazing. Breakfast wasn’t the best, but having it there was convenient, and the rest made up for it. Restaurants and coffee shops are an easy walk away. Thank you.
