PapavistaRelais

The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was strong, and the service was excellent, even though the neighborhood looked a bit sketchy. You get PIN access for all the doors you need. The old lift works, but only fits two people at a time. If you take the stairs, you'll see the Vatican. The place isn't soundproof, though, and the noise from them setting up the little coffee area woke us before our 8am alarm.

A very nice staff and comfortable room for the money. It had a desk, a table, and its own bathroom. The Vatican is three blocks away on foot. I'd book here for the value and the proximity to the Vatican. It's probably three stars, but perfectly acceptable if you don't need frills.

The location is amazing, but we're not coming back. The room was so dusty that I had a mild allergic reaction just lying on the bed. I had to shower and buy a spray at the drugstore to use on the bed so I could sleep. The next day, after they'd supposedly cleaned, I saw dust bunnies floating around and found the area under the bed full of dust. I had to wipe it myself with a towel. That's not something you expect to do after paying for a stay. The kitchen was very dirty too, so we never ate breakfast there. I usually don't leave negative comments, but cleanliness in a hotel room is essential, especially for someone with allergies.

The everyday room service was very helpful, and Marybeth was always online if we had a question or needed something. We spent 5 nights at PapaVista at the end of April 2023 and found everything as advertised. The accommodation was comfortable, with easy access to the Vatican and Ottaviano metro station on Via Giulio Cesare. That street has various shops and places for a cheap, tasty breakfast, and there are plenty of bus and metro stops nearby. You can grab coffee right in front of PapaVista in the morning, and the Vatican Museums and Vatican itself are very easy to reach. We had no issues during the stay. The street is busy and noisy, as you'd expect in the city center, but it adds to the feeling of the eternal city. Next time I'd skip the breakfast, since there are lots of places to try a proper Italian breakfast. Our favorite was Forno Feliziani Giulio Cesare Ave. I'd definitely recommend this accommodation!
