We paid 50 € a night, plus tax, so it was cheap. The room was at the very back, away from noisy Rome, and the place was basic, clean, and rather small, with rooms that seem to have been there forever. The man at reception spent hours talking with my Italian partner. I don't know why, but I kind of like this hotel.

The bald, heavyset man with glasses is irritating.

We had a lovely 8-day stay. The owner was warm, helpful, and accommodating, and the small rooms were nicely furnished and clean. Breakfast was better than at other Roman hotels, with a cozy, living-room kind of feel. It's right in the center but on a quiet street, so nights weren't noisy. For central Rome, this is a really good hotel, better than the two other 4-star places we stayed at.

The good parts were the free Wi-Fi, though you have to renew it every three hours, and a reasonably nice dining room. Beyond that, the rooms were cracked and dirty, the bathrooms awful, narrow, and filthy, and the beds were dirty and hairy. Staff were rude and arrogant. I really don't think I'll come back.
