Piazza Venezia Grand Suite

We’d let them know when we would arrive, but there was no management service and we waited four hours for help getting into our room. We’d just flown for nine hours to stay there. There was no Wi-Fi either.

The women who handled breakfast and cleaning were really friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The location is quiet and excellent, close to the Trevi Fountain, Collesium, Spanish Steps, and Vittorio Emmanuel Basilica. There’s a small French balcony where I could smoke without going outside. The walls are thin and definitely need better insulation or soundproofing. Despite the negative comments, I don’t think you’ll regret staying here, and I’ll book it again on my next trip. One friendly suggestion: add cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers to breakfast, and take away those delicious croissants and donuts ;-)))

The newer side of the hotel had a very comfortable room, and the women looking after it were great. Breakfast was very good and came to our room at the time we requested. Check-in is self-service, with the details sent over WhatsApp, so make sure you have the app on your phone. All the rooms are on the third floor, and there are two elevators in the building. The location is super central, so we could walk to nearly all the must-see sights except the Vatican. Saida’s review below was a big help in finding this “hotel,” since the booking site showed no outside views. We had a great stay and I’m happy to recommend it.

The location gets 5/5, right among the things worth seeing in Rome, but the stay itself was below average and felt more like a hostel than a hotel. There was no reception, and the entrance hallway had piles of trash. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, though breakfast was decent. The “Grand suite” name was misleading and didn’t fit the place. The cleaning lady gave us the keys by chance and was very friendly, as were the other staff. But the apartment smelled strongly of cleaning liquid, the boiler didn’t work, and the TV and coffee machine were old. I’d rate the overall experience 2.3/5 and wouldn’t recommend it for the price unless central location matters more to you than comfort.
