The remote-only setup didn’t inspire much confidence, though it did seem to work this time. It’s fairly low cost for accommodation in the centre of the Vatican district. My room was spacious enough, but badly finished, with dangerously loose sockets and no proper bathroom ventilation. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the plastic duvet got far too hot, and I couldn’t find any air conditioning controls. Traffic was the bigger problem for me: my room faced the Roman speedway, with cars and ambulances rushing past all night and into the early hours. I’d value the room at no more than €60 a night. It might do for a short overnight business stay, but I’d avoid it in summer.

The air conditioning didn’t work at all, despite being charged for a room with AC during a three-night stay in the middle of the Italian summer. Rome was 40C, and although the manager said on the first night that he’d check it, he never showed up. Nothing was done about it. The only customer service was through WhatsApp, and I didn’t see any staff during those three days. Their answer was for me to go to a hotel storage room and fetch a fan myself. That’s no fix for a real problem. Don’t waste your time or money here.

The location is good, but this is a room in an apartment rather than a proper hotel, with no staff on site. My room was tiny and on the ground floor, and its windows were stuck open so there was no way to close them. Soundproofing was extremely poor, and I could hear everyone coming into the building.

I think the place is getting more hate on Google than it deserves. For under €150 a night, it’s a comfortable, clean, and private place right in the heart of Rome. The rooms are modern, the beds are comfortable, and having a fridge in the room is a nice extra. The manager was really kind and accommodating. There is some traffic noise, but earplugs take care of it.

This stay was a nightmare. The room smelled so bad, and it was dirty and noisy. The AC didn’t work, and the bathroom was poorly maintained. Avoid it at any price.
