We stayed one night on a whim, and it was a perfect first night in Italy. The place feels dramatic and romantic, though you can probably only get there by car. We picked the most basic room, but it was still roomy and nice. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re heading north from Rome.

The breakfast was awful. The scrambled eggs weren’t fully cooked and had bits of eggshell in them, and the bacon was only half cooked. The room smelled strongly of musk, and the sheets weren’t clean. Please find somewhere else to stay.

A relaxing, clean spa area. The sauna and jacuzzi were great, and the emotional shower was a nice bonus. A perfect spot to switch off for a while.

The staff were wonderful during our stay, always welcoming, friendly, and helpful. There’s lots of space and a good range of venues for weddings, retreats, or group events, all set among beautiful grounds. It’s a charming, peaceful location, though there are a few things to know before booking. Our room didn’t have air conditioning or shampoo, and the windows had no screens. A bee ended up in our bedroom. The food was underwhelming too and could be better. It’s a picturesque place with great service and plenty of potential for events, but a few comfort improvements would make the stay better.
