Relais de l'Opera

We appreciated how quiet the area was after the busy tourist spots, even though there are great restaurants tucked into the side streets. The hotel is centrally placed, within walking distance of the Colosseum, bus stops and train stations. It was spotless, the mattresses were very comfortable, and the attentive staff helped with anything we needed. We could message them on what’s app and they replied right away. In my opinion, this is more like a 4 star hotel than a 2 star one. I’d definitely stay again.

The only thing that bothered me was hearing toilets flush in neighboring rooms at 6am. Otherwise, I had a good three-night stay. The room and bathroom were new, very comfortable, and supplied with plenty of towels and toiletries. My host was friendly and helpful, and we got along well even though I’m not fluent in Italian. The place was a pleasant surprise at such low prices, especially as a last-minute booking. It’s far enough from the station to avoid the chaos, but still not far from it. There’s a lovely restaurant across the road, and the sights are about a 20-minute walk away.

The room was spacious, and the A/C and WiFi both worked well. The only thing missing was a mini fridge, so we couldn’t keep cold drinks. The hotel is very nice and not too far from the main attractions. Just keep in mind that the front desk isn’t staffed all night, so it’s best to sort out what you need while staff are there.

The neighborhood was the best part for me, with good restaurants and shopping nearby in a quieter, less crowded area than the usual food and shopping districts. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and had some character, including the open-style lift and staff who met us at the door and took us to our room. We arrived early from the US, but our room was ready at 11:30am, so we could check in and get the day started. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone staying in Rome.
