Residenza Giulia al Colosseo

We booked apartments #14 and #38 for three nights, about a five-minute walk apart, because the location was convenient and within walking distance of the Colosseum. Unfortunately, the stay was disappointing, and we wouldn’t come back or recommend the hotel despite the location. At 6 pm, we couldn’t get into #14 because the door lock was faulty. None of the phone numbers we called were answered, so we had to spend the first night in #38. There were 10 of us, five adults and five kids. After a long flight the children were tired, stressed, and crying, which made the whole situation harder. A staff member fixed the lock the next day, and we moved into #14. Then the boiler in #38 broke on the second day and wasn’t repaired for the rest of our stay, leaving us without warm water for showers. The hotel offered a 10% discount for the two nights affected and reimbursement for one night in #14, but sorting it out was cumbersome and we had to file a claim through Expedia. We were also ready to pay the city/local tax, but the amount was higher than what Expedia had shown.

The location was incredible, and the room was really nice. I nearly put my reservation at risk by missing an important registration step, but Serge and the staff made sure I was looked after. Had a lovely few days here, highly recommend it.

Giuseppe and Mary made us feel so welcome. Giuseppe pointed us toward great places to eat and explore, and Mary was sweet and helped with anything we needed. They also bring your chosen breakfast to the room at the time you ask for it. Our room was clean, welcoming, and just right for two. The metro is only a 4-5 minute walk away, and passing the Colosseum several times a day felt surreal. Such a great start to our vacation. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Giuseppe and Mary! The apartment at 'via san giovanni in Laterano 226 apt' felt like a home, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My family and I had a great stay. It’s very close to the colosseum, with a 25+ minute walk from there to the trevi area. Along the way there are lots of shops, restaurants, and other sightseeing spots. There’s a breakfast deal with a local shop, though it’s closed on Sundays. I’d happily stay here again or try one of their other locations 👍
