Residenza Pomponio

I booked through booking.com for next spring, almost six months ahead, and got what seemed like a good price. It turned out to be too good to be true. The property kept flagging my credit card as invalid, over and over, even though I was using the same card on my trip to Switzerland at the time the notification came through. After the third time, I contacted booking.com Customer Service. They said they’d reach the property and sort it out, maybe by arranging another payment method or adjusting things so I could use a card in my friend's name, since they’d be staying with me. Instead, the property cancelled my reservation, and booking.com said they couldn’t do anything about it. When I tried to book again, it was fully booked just five minutes after the cancellation notice. I checked other dates too, and the prices had more than doubled from what I’d originally booked. I get it now. They wanted more money.

The location works well and the rooms are okay, but service was lacking. The receptionist was hardly ever there, and there was no room service on Sunday.

Breakfast was nice, and they brought it right to the door. The location also made it easy to explore Rome. We had a very good stay and recommend it.

We’d recommend the place. Everything was great, though having a living room would have made it even better.
