Madam Maria gave a free tour about the property and her family's story, and the building has wonderful history. That part was genuinely interesting and memorable. But a serious luggage handling problem overshadowed the stay. We told Madam Maria and Rodel we'd collect our bags at 5:30 PM, but nobody was there when we arrived. We knocked for 15 minutes and called several times, and even the guard couldn't reach Rodel. We nearly missed our train, making it by just four minutes. Afterward, we contacted the hotel for an explanation and got no response. It was extremely stressful and disappointing after everything had seemed so promising. I'd recommend not leaving luggage behind after checkout, since the handling and communication can be unreliable.

The place was much smaller than described and wasn't suitable for friends sharing. It was advertised on Booking.com as a luxury property with two ensuite bedrooms, but in reality there was one bedroom with an ensuite and a living room with a single bed. The listing also promised an extra bathroom, a tumble dryer, and a fireplace, none of which were there. We were given only one set of keys for several guests. When we raised the mismatches, management blamed Booking.com for the listing and offered us €350 in cash to withdraw the complaint and stay. That felt like an inappropriate attempt to bribe us instead of fixing the problem. I'm still trying to get a refund after having to leave.

Rodel, our butler, was incredibly hospitable and made the stay even more wonderful. The location was just feet from the shopping district and Spanish Steps, and everything was within walking distance. We stayed in the Queen Ortensia Suite, a stunning, huge space with 18th century artwork, a king-sized bed with fine linens, and a modern bathroom with a contemporary 8 jet shower system with rainfall and a full tub. Residenza Ruspoli Bonaparte feels more like a palace than a hotel, and it's a true gem full of history. Words can't describe the experience. If you're looking for the perfect stay in Rome, look no further. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

We booked the roof suite and loved how cute it was. Having our own balcony meant we could enjoy breakfast outside, and there are lots of famous shops close by. Spain Plaza is within walking distance. The only issue was the unpleasant smell in the small elevator.

The staircase is one of the 4 wonders of Rome. This place is a real palace, full of history and atmosphere, simply amazing. The host is exceptional. Stay and listen to the tour, it's fascinating and heartbreaking that the Italian government doesn't do more to help. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Just brilliant.
