I stayed in 2015 and would come back. Set atop a building, the apartment felt peaceful and private, and the views over the adjacent basilica were fantastic, especially at night. It was adequate, with fine amenities otherwise, though there was no microwave or kettle. We ate out the whole time, so we didn't use the oven.

After we arrived at Rome airport, we got a very passive aggressive email saying we couldn't stay because of “urgent repairs.” They said they'd tried to contact us, but we were traveling and couldn't be reached at home. We were left at the airport with our bags and nowhere to go, trying to find another place during peak season. I'd spent days choosing this apartment and checking it met our needs, so it was deeply disappointing. We eventually had to settle for different accommodation. Later, we walked by the apartment we were meant to stay in and saw people on its balcony. It looked like the place had been double booked through another site, and we lost out. This nearly ruined our whole trip.
