Ripetta Relais

I found Ripetta Relais while looking for somewhere near Hotel Locarno, where my sister's family had chosen to stay. I couldn't afford that hotel, and this turned out to be an incredible find for the price. It was clean and comfortable, and I liked the fun, more local feel of going through a coded door. The owners/managers were available on WhatsApp and kindly answered my questions about both the stay and tourist attractions. The walk upstairs didn't bother me since I was already walking 8-9 miles a day around Rome.

The location was great, but I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. The rooms look worn and need maintenance: wallpaper is peeling and cracked, bulbs need replacing, and there's no bathroom heating or towel hangers, among other things. I've stayed in youth hostels for a third of the price that were in much better shape. Maybe this was an okay place some years ago, but not now.

All the main sights are walkable from this lovely B&B in central Rome. The staff were really helpful and kind, and my room was fantastic, with a great shower and jacuzzi. A great place to rest while exploring the city.

We wanted to try a historic place in the city center instead of our usual H brand mega hotel chain, somewhere within walking distance of food, shopping and sights. The outside had no sign, but our airport driver knew to use the intercom, and the desk clerk buzzed us in. The hotel is on the second floor with no elevator; he came down to help with our luggage. Since each room is different, he showed us the available ones and let us choose one on the third floor, which meant even more stairs. The rooms are starting to show wear, with paint peeling. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with limited mobility or using a wheelchair. Breakfast was a buffet of cold cuts and cheese, pastries, coffee and the like.
