The room itself was okay, but this feels more like a hostel than a hotel: three rooms share a kitchen area. The little touchscreen used to enter the rooms is very old and often doesn’t register a touch, or reads it incorrectly. It needs fixing.

The worst part was getting in. The electric entry system for both the flat and the room was very hard to use, and when we had a power cut, we couldn’t get inside. I texted the owners. They knew about the outage and said they didn’t know how long it would last, though they’d had notice of road works outside. The electricity eventually came back, but the place was still being advertised. There’s shared outdoor seating, and three rooms share one kitchen, where someone’s cooking left the place smelling. Nothing special.

Monica got in touch on WhatsApp right away and answered all my questions carefully and quickly. I was only in Rome for one night before my flight home, and this worked well, with easy Leonardo Express and Uber service. The location was good, and the room had its own bed and nice bathroom. The lounge and balcony are shared by three rooms. The shelf behind the bed wasn’t especially clean. I also had to pay the €5 tourist tax in cash, which was inconvenient since I had to break a €20 note at dinner. It would be easier to pay online when booking.

I stayed four days for work and had a more than perfect experience. The bedrooms were clean and well equipped, and the host was available whenever I needed help. Being so close to the metro was probably the best part. I’ll definitely come back, maybe with my family for a holiday.

The location was great, but the room was tiny and the bed wasn’t soft. I wouldn’t recommend it.
