Roman Holiday Charming

Everything was neat, clean and organized, and it was great apart from one thing: I just wish the showers were a bit bigger. 🙂

The property was new and nicely furnished, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed for three days and would recommend it for the location, close to a metro station as well as restaurants, bars and shops.

From the street, the building looked a bit neglected, and the B&B is on the second floor, though there’s a new elevator. Inside was a completely different story: the rooms are renovated, tastefully furnished, clean, welcoming and equipped with every comfort. The location is excellent, just steps from Subaugusta metro station on line A, so the city centre is only a few minutes away. I’ll definitely come back on a future Rome trip.

I’ve been reviewing restaurants, hotels and B&Bs for 20 years, and I’ll definitely return to this one. The management is very nice, polite and helpful, even though pretty much everything is handled electronically through apps now. The room I got was superb: clean and spacious, with a spotless bathroom and a very comfortable bed with pillow options. Watch out when turning on the water, as the shower head activates first and can spray you. It’s on Tuscolana, 250 metres from Metro A, which makes getting around easy and keeps you away from the city-centre chaos and Termini, which I wouldn’t recommend at night. I’m a former Roman from the Tuscolana area leading to Cinecittà, and I like how lively and livable the streets are, with shops, restaurants, bars and pastry shops. The area is completely flat, and if you take your time, you can find parking. I recommend it with four stars, despite a couple of improvements I mentioned that I hope they make.
