ROMAnce Cosimato Trastevere B&B

I gave one star because there isn't an option for zero. This is probably the worst accommodation I've stayed in for years. There were small bugs around the bathroom, including on the towels. The door had clearly been forced before we arrived, and even when locked with the keys it felt completely insecure. We had to ask for it to be fixed because we were very uneasy. The locker didn't work, so there was nowhere to keep our belongings safe. There was no shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom. Since we arrived late in the evening, we couldn't shower that night. There was no phone signal in the room, and we couldn't connect to the supposedly free WiFi, so we were completely offline whenever we were inside. We hadn't been told about daily cleaning, and discovered someone had entered and cleaned our locked room without notice. It's a room with keys, not a hotel, so this was a real surprise. The two single beds pushed together weren't a double bed and were very uncomfortable. The room had poor ventilation because it opens onto an interior courtyard on the first floor. The TV didn't work either, presumably because there was no signal. No one mentioned the tourist fee until midnight on our last night. The owner said it had to be paid in cash, although the booking information only said some charges would be collected by the property. That left us having to withdraw cash with hardly any time the next morning and pay a fee. There was no iron, and the hairdryer was such poor quality that drying long hair was really difficult.
