I'd check Booking.com reviews before making a reservation, since this property has a lot of bad ones. We booked three suites and found them in three entirely separate buildings, with separate entrances. That wasn't mentioned when we booked. Getting to the place was difficult too: it's down a narrow alley that cars can't enter, so we carried our bags about 100 meters. There was no proper reception, just a cluttered spot with what seemed to be shoe storage boxes. The property felt dirty and unsafe, and looked nothing like its photos. The receptionist was aggressive and rude. She refused a refund, threatened us, and pressured us to stay. The whole interaction felt intimidating and suspicious, completely unacceptable. It felt like dealing with a gang rather than a legitimate business. This was a terrible experience, and I strongly advise people to stay away.

That little fridge came in handy for fruit, cold drinks from the nearby shops, and cheese we bought to take home. The rooms themselves were nicely decorated, with high quality finishes throughout, and Piazza Di Spagna is just a few steps away. Natalia checked in each day to see if we were comfortable or needed anything, and Diana got the rooms cleaned quickly, even while we were out at breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again.

We didn't stay a single minute. When we arrived, it was immediately clear this wasn't what we'd booked. The woman there knew what was going on and seemed to be following a pattern. She pressured us to stay because we'd already paid, and even took our luggage to push us further. She then refused to refund us, although we left right away and never used the room. Rome 55 is NOT a hotel. There's no lobby, reception, staff, or signage. It's a floor in an old building, rented by an elderly woman, down a dark pedestrian alley. The online pictures are highly misleading. The place was filthy and dark, and nowhere near fit to be called a hotel. At best, it's a poorly maintained guesthouse dressed up as one, with none of the services or standards you'd expect. It shouldn't be listed on Booking.com or other reputable platforms. This was my first time writing a Google Maps review, and that's how shocking and disappointing the experience was. This isn't just a bad hotel, it feels like misrepresentation and possible fraud. Avoid at all costs. Booking platforms should remove the listing to protect future travelers.
