There are no markings outside, so it can be a little hard to find. Look for the big Hotel Miami sign, then go right to the first floor. Once inside, I was pleasantly surprised: the building is very modern, the room was clean and well equipped, and I liked the unusual door that covers either the toilet or the shower. The location worked well. It’s a 20-minute walk to Fontani Di Trevi, 25 minutes to the Colloseum, 30 minutes to the pantheon, and 50 minutes in a straight line to the Vatican.

The best parts for me were the bed and Paolo. I slept better here than anywhere else on my two-week trip to Europe, and asked the owner what brand it was so I could get one for home if I can afford it. Paolo is Roman and clearly cares about his city and guest house. He’s gone above and beyond for me and my friends, before, during, and after our stays, always treating guests with courtesy and respect. This was my second stay at Room 230, and it keeps getting better. In my opinion, Monti is the best neighborhood in Rome. I’ve visited the Eternal City eight times and love wandering around. I’ve walked to every attraction from here, and the Metro is less than a 10-minute stroll down Via Nazionale. With only carry-on luggage, I can also walk from the Termini train station. Via Nazionale has shopping for every budget, and Monti has countless great restaurants. The four-suite B&B is on the second floor of a glorious old building, with an elevator. It feels like stepping back in time into a stylish modern suite. The air conditioning was wonderful during my July visit, when it was almost 100 degrees F. At other hotels I’ve found the room AC set so you can’t adjust it, but here I could crank it up after coming home feeling close to heat stroke, shower, and feel like a new person. The shower has both a rainfall head and a handheld nozzle. Breakfast is delicious and served in your room daily at the time you choose. I don’t think it’s easy to find anything comparable in the city at these reasonable rates. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and fall in love with Rome. Don’t forget to throw a coin in the fountain if you want to guarantee a return. It’s worked for me eight times, and I’m confident about number nine.

The owner and staff were very nice. The room was modern, clean, and pleasant, with a comfortable bed. The shower has no curtain, so the bathroom gets wet.
