Paolo kept checking in to make sure everything was okay, and it was. We spent four days here and loved it. There were four of us, and we were all comfortable in this beautiful apartment. Having two bathrooms worked out perfectly: my wife and I used one, and the other guests had the second. The Vatican was super close, and the Hop on Hop off stop was close enough too. I’d definitely come back.

The rooms are modern and pleasant, and there's a small shared kitchen and lounge where you can make coffee or tea whenever you like. The location is handy for the Vatican, St. Peters, and Roma San Pietro train station. From there, the train to Roma Termini costs just 1Euro. Just keep in mind that this “hotel” is on the ground floor of an apartment building, so it's not a good fit if you expect to be loud or disruptive.

My biggest problem was the internet. The Wi-Fi was awful, and even when it worked, only small areas of my already tiny room could get a connection. For part of my stay it was completely out. Other guests were complaining about it when I arrived, so I should have taken that as a warning. I had no reception or service in Italy, which made this especially rough. After a whole day without internet, I woke up and still couldn't order my ride to the airport. I had to ask someone on the street to set up a personal hotspot so I could book an Uber and make my flight. If you're visiting without phone service in Italy, don't stay here. The breakfast deserves the quotation marks. It was limited to cheap pastries and sweets, plus yogurt with black mold inside. My friend nearly ate some before I pointed out that it wasn't part of the yogurt. Anyone wanting a healthy, filling, or nutritious breakfast won't find it here. In room 4, the toilet seat was broken, and the toilet itself wasn't bolted properly to the floor. It came loose, and a heavier person could potentially tip it over by leaning the wrong way. By my standards this place barely manages the basics. Maybe someone looking for cheap and just manageable would be okay with it, but more than two days here would be terrible. Honestly, I could give it one star, but I'm feeling nice.

We were really let down and felt we'd missed out on a nice stay in Rome, even though the host was pleasant. Our room was cramped, with a double bed and a camp bed. It was filthy underneath the beds and behind the bedside locker. The heater and kettle didn't work, and the kitchen smelled bad and was dirty as soon as you walked in. The basement room had no air, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything. The internet was terrible too. The “breakfast” was a joke: cheap tea, coffee, and cake, with all the yoghurts out of date. The food pictures on the website were totally inaccurate. There was no drinking water or juice, and the owner told us to drink from the tap. At almost 100 per night, it was very expensive.

One night was quite enough for us. The location was good, but there were plenty of other places with larger, nicer, airier accommodation. There were three of us squeezed into a tiny bedroom, and the third bed was a put-you-up, not even a proper bed. It was dark, noisy, and disgusting. The drains leaked and caused flooding, the shower didn't drain properly, and the apartment wasn't soundproof. It felt like a box room in a cellar, with just a few wrapped items, cereal, and coffee pods presented as breakfast. The room was mouldy and far too small, though the ladies did their best to clean it. I honestly don't understand all the good reviews. Avoid this place.
