Sotto la Cupola Guest House

Emilia was a very accommodating host and went out of her way to help with some of our travel arrangements. I felt at home and would happily stay again on a return trip to Rome. We had three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, in the apartment. Since there were three of us, we booked all three early so everyone had their own space. The shared kitchen was well stocked with breakfast food, and the espresso and cappuccino machine was fantastic. It was my first visit to Rome and Italy. A friend who stayed here in 2016 recommended the B&B. The location was convenient, a few blocks from Vatican city, city buses, and the Urban Rail station, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

The owner was very rude, and the property wasn’t as described. There was construction in the room above us starting at 6am. After we complained, it shifted to 8am the first night. You need to disclose the construction in the listing instead of telling guests afterward. There’s no washer or dryer, and the place was last updated in 2015. We also paid $110 in city tax. The host was excellent, and the sheets were clean. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, the main part of the room looked nice, and the location was good. The bathroom was the downside, with lots of mold, especially in the shower. There was a string in there that was black from top to bottom.

Management made us feel welcome and was very helpful with directions and arranging taxis. Great accommodation.
