The staff were so empathetic and kind when our luggage was stolen from the bus and we were stressed and unsure what to do. Even though they were busy, they let us check in early, and we’re truly grateful for that thoughtful gesture. The hotel also has a great location and a fresh, modern style. Our stay exceeded expectations, and we’ll definitely choose it again. I highly recommend it.

The room itself was in rough shape. There were clothes in the closet, the lamp was broken like the picture, and one bed’s headboard was hanging loose because its mounting anchor was broken. Paint was peeling all over the bathroom, the shower backed up until water reached the little step, and it didn’t feel clean. The location wasn’t bad, though it seemed pretty ordinary for Rome. The stay started with a frightening scene at the door. My wife, my brother-in-law, and I arrived a couple of weeks ago and rang the apartment buzzer to be let in. A man answered, “ok third floor,” but the inner door stayed locked. We rang again to ask about a code, then held the button and said we were still locked out, thinking it was an intercom. A man came rushing down the stairs, angry, struggled with the locked door, then yelled at me for ringing so many times and said he’d called the police. I was shocked. As I backed away from him, he told me to look him in the eyes and said he wouldn’t be disrespected. I understand now that it was a doorbell and that it probably rang several times, including for 5-10 seconds after he told us to come up. But it was our first interaction, and it felt like a misunderstanding that could have been handled by simply explaining that it rang each time. We would have apologized. Instead, he berated paying guests over something trivial. All in all, it was a terrible stay. I’d avoid ringing the doorbell more than once. If you’re told to come up but the door is still locked, I guess wait for another guest to leave before trying again, or the man may go on another tirade.

The location was nice and the facilities were clean, but an incident at check-in left us uneasy for the whole stay. The person who greeted us demanded an unofficial €15 to store our luggage until check-in. I pointed out that this charge wasn’t stated anywhere and that our reservation confirmation said luggage could be left in case of early arrival or late departure. He argued that it was “my house, my rules,” that if it didn’t say it was free he could decide the price, and that otherwise he’d have to pay out of pocket for us. I refused the fee and asked him to have the manager contact me. He then said, “Okay, this is my gift to you,” and suddenly turned polite. Management never contacted us. The exchange made us feel insecure and uncertain throughout the visit. Management should make all terms clear and ensure staff don’t take advantage of guests. Future guests should stand up for their rights and be cautious about overcharging or staff abuse.

I booked through expedia, and this place was nothing like the hotel and suites it was advertised as. The entrance felt creepy, with bums hanging around and doing drugs. I rang the bell and got no answer, so I called. A very nasty man answered as if I’d bothered him during a nap, then said someone would come open the door and get me keys. The person who opened it looked like she’d just woken up, with tattoos everywhere and piercings all over her face. There were only 4 rooms, like a bordello. The place was dirty and creepy, and the listing was completely false. I felt unsafe and couldn’t stay. The customer service was terrible. Save yourself the trouble and go a few blocks to the Mediterraneo hotel. It was cheaper than this creepy place, with real hotel service and elegant rooms. It also has a great restaurant with a big menu of delicious local Rome favorites.
