We travel and rent places often, and we've never come across an owner's expectations like Emmanuelle's. At the end, you're expected to strip the beds, wash, fold, and put away all the sheets, towels, and bedding, then leave the whole unit ready for the next booking. That's not how I want to spend the last day of a holiday. The apartment only really works for a couple, not a family or group. The photos use deceptive angles, and it's only sufficient for two people. The living, kitchen, and dining area is tiny, with room for only two chairs at the table, and the kitchen shade didn't work. There is no microwave or oven, so everything has to be cooked on the stovetop and restaurant leftovers can't be reheated. That meant washing pots and pans throughout the holiday. Our children repeatedly got locked in the bathroom, and Emmanuelle couldn't be reached. Our teenage son had to climb out through the bathroom window. It was scary. Emmanuelle blamed the problem on the previous guests, but that didn't keep my kids safe. We were charged tourist tax on the booking bill, then Emmanuelle collected it again, so that was cash in his pocket. It's a 20 minute walk around the Vatican walls to reach the entrance. The place has all the bells and whistles, including mood lights, but it isn't suitable for families or groups.
