St Peters House

We booked a room with a private bathroom and were given one with a shared bathroom instead. When we asked for a refund, we got nothing. The room was dirty and unattractive, the sheets were dirty, and the floor was never cleaned. Avoid this place.

They cancelled my reservation on the very day I arrived. It then took more than a month and a half to get my €380 back. I strongly advise against staying here.

The room we were given was filthy, with no air conditioning or anything else. When I spoke to the manager, she said that's just how it is and insisted on charging me €20 per person for arriving outside check-in hours, even though I'd emailed her my arrival time. I'm still trying to get a response from the company I booked this so-called "hotel" with. It's a complete dump.

We knew from the start that the hotel had a low rating, so we weren't disappointed. It was simply somewhere to sleep. Getting there was confusing. Use a navigator, because locals won't give directions and you can end up walking in circles. There isn't really a reception. At check-in they hand over the keys and bed linen, and staff sometimes show up in the morning. We had room 10, on a high first floor. The water was always hot, but the soundproofing was poor. The doors felt like cardboard, the latches were loose, and a draft made it seem like someone was trying to break in. The little terrace faces a busy highway, though it's okay for a snack or a glass of wine. Francisco was friendly and helpful, and you could even have a conversation with him if your English was decent. A good supermarket on the next street had baked goods, cheese, wine, and salumeria. St. Peter's was an easy 20-minute walk. On the way there was also Mercato market, another supermarket, cafes, bakeries, and gelaterias.
